My Style

My photography style tells your story with a mix of posed and candid shots in the session, while my editing style can vary from light and airy to one of rich, more dynamic color. Lifestyle portraits are different than than studio portraits. The world is our backdrop, the sun is our lighting set up and you are in that moment fully with me as a witness.

A picture is worth a thousand words

Meet Megan

Hello again, friend. My love for journalism is what sparked my passion for photography. I was trained in the style of documentary and news photography, which is part of what makes my eye unique. I've continued my photography education to master the art. As a military spouse I've moved a lot-- Illinois, Hawaii, New York, New Hampshire and now South Carolina. To me, photography is not just about the image. It's about creating a fun experience for clients.

Work with Me

Why I became a Photographer

I was that goofy kid that loved being in front of the camera. After my Mom passed away from cancer in 2020, I inherited totes of drug-store printed photographs still in the sleeves, undeveloped disposable cameras and video tapes. Going through the treasure trove of my childhood memories I realized: Mom was absent from most of them because she was always behind the camera

While seeing my childhood through her eyes brought me a sense of gratitude, I desperately wished she was captured in that moment with me. I never want a client to feel the remorse of not having memories to look back on with those they love. I want clients to see their photos and love them enough to not only brag about on social media, but enough to earn a spot on their wall at home.

Photos are no good tucked away and forgotten about, in box or on a computer.  I want to be your memory keeper, capturing milestones and preserving memories for you and your family that you can treasure everyday.

Several years after she passed, we found photos of my Mom in her youth. Funny, how you don't realize how much you take for granted, like the same squinty-eyed crooked smile I had never noticed we shared. You may think, oh I need to lose weight or any other excuse to stay behind the camera. But I promise, your kids don't see that. They just see you. And that's what we miss the most when pictures are all we have left to remember.

So, when you're hesitating on jumping in for a few portraits with your kiddos, do it for them. Do it for my mom, Cathy.
